This is one of my works where I was required to portray a cultural phenomenon using short video
"Too poor to live, to poor to die" is how one newspaper headlined a report, reflecting the complaints of Chinese citizens that cemetery plots were now costing more per square metre than luxury apartments.
Through the short video, I wanted to depict a huge social issue in China, which is the exorbitant burial expenses and cemetery prices. In a country where traditionally people are laid to rest in graves, the rising burial costs means that more and more people are reluctantly choosing sea burial or tree burial.
In this project, my tasks included creating the short video, voice dubbing, finding background music and complex editing.
